    Use the Demographics Wizard to create custom tables of national and state-level statistics about low-income or poor children.
     
  • Texas Population Estimates and Projections Program Texas State Data Center and Office of the State Demographer
    The Texas Population Estimates Program produces annual estimates of the total populations of counties and places in the state and estimates of county populations by age, sex, and race/ethnicity.
     
  • American Community Survey U.S. Census Bureau
    Comprehensive data source with information at the national, state, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), county, city, zip code, and congressional district levels. Various types of data are available such as demographics, housing, employment, income, vulnerable populations, etc. Data is collected and reported for each year, three year combined estimates, and five year combined estimates.
     
  • City of Austin Demographics City of Austin
    This website includes a data library with information such as demographic profiles, histories and forecasts, and Census and American Community Survey Data. The website also includes a map library with maps showing data such as racial and ethnic population concentrations, population growth and decline, age cohort concentrations, household characteristics, and political landscapes.
     
  • Imagine Austin Download Center City of Austin
    The website has links to download Imagine Austin Background Documents including a Community Inventory which has data and information on the following topics: demographics and household trends, natural environment, land use and zoning, economic development and employment trends, housing and neighborhood conditions, transportation, public utilities, parks and recreation, community facilities, historic Austin, and urban design and urban form.
     
  • Decennial Census Data U.S. Census Bureau
    Comprehensive data source with information at the national, state, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), county, city, zip code, and congressional district levels. Data is collected every ten years. The Decennial Census Data is considered to be the most accurate source of population data available.
     
  • Demographic Profiles National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP)
    The National Center for Children in Poverty’s Demographic Profiles provide state-specific data on the characteristics of children in poor and low-income families by age. Children living in families with incomes below the federal poverty level are referred to as poor. Children living in families with incomes below twice this level are referred to as low income.
     
  • Population Estimates Program U.S. Census Bureau
    The Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Program produces estimates of the population for the United States, its states, counties, cities, and towns. Demographic components of population change (births, deaths, and migration) and demographic characteristics (age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin) are produced at the national, state, and county levels. In addition, housing unit estimates are produced for the nation, states, and counties.
     
  • Texas Kids Count Data Center The Annie E. Casey Foundation
    Access profiles for many Texas locations; rankings, maps, or trend graphs by topic; and raw data. Includes over 100 measures of child well-being, including the community-level data formerly in CLIKS.
     
  • Texas Health Data Texas Department of State Health Services
    Texas Health Data allows users to customize statistical reports by querying vital records and other health related databases. Information available includes: birth defects, births, deaths, population estimates and projections, and trauma data.
